1. Excavation & Base Preparation We dig to proper depth, remove unsuitable soils, and install compacted gravel base. Proper base preparation prevents settling and cracking.

2. Forming Install forms to correct height and grade. Forms ensure proper thickness and clean edges.

3. Reinforcement Place rebar or wire mesh as specified. Reinforcement controls cracking and adds strength.

4. Pouring Pour, spread, and consolidate concrete. We work efficiently to prevent cold joints.

5. Finishing Finish to specified texture (broom, trowel, or exposed aggregate). Proper finishing techniques ensure durability.

6. Curing Proper curing is critical. We protect fresh concrete and control moisture loss for maximum strength.

Proper Base Preparation Many concrete failures start with poor base. We excavate unsuitable soils, install proper gravel base, and compact thoroughly.

Correct Thickness Under-spec concrete fails prematurely. We pour adequate thickness for the load:

• 4 inches: Light foot traffic only
• 5-6 inches: Standard vehicle traffic
• 6-8 inches: Heavy equipment and point loads

Reinforcement Rebar or mesh controls cracking and prevents failure. We don't skip this critical step.

Control Joints Properly placed control joints direct where cracks occur - in joints where they're hidden, not randomly across surfaces.

Quality Concrete Mix We use proper PSI mix designs for Kentucky weather with air entrainment for freeze-thaw resistance.

Driveways: $7-10 per square foot (5-6 inch thickness) 

Equipment Pads: $8-12 per square foot (6-8 inch thickness with heavy reinforcement) 

Building Floors: $6-9 per square foot (depends on size and access)

Minimum project size is typically $3,000 due to setup and equipment costs.

How long before I can drive on new concrete? Light vehicle traffic: 7 days Heavy equipment: 14-28 days for full cure

Will my concrete crack? All concrete cracks to some degree. Control joints direct cracks to planned locations. Proper base, thickness, and reinforcement minimize cracking.

Can you pour concrete in winter? Yes, with precautions. We avoid pouring when temps are below 40°F or when freezing is forecast within 72 hours.

How thick should my equipment pad be? 6-8 inches for tractors and equipment. Heavier for extremely heavy equipment or constant use areas.

Do you do decorative concrete? We focus on functional, durable concrete for rural properties. We can do exposed aggregate and basic coloring.

How long will it last? Properly installed concrete lasts 30-50+ years with minimal maintenance.
